BRCC Unleashes New Hurricane Roast To Honor Our K9 Heroes

The Coastalvir giniadriving Podcast fans know the Coastalvir giniadriving Company team is always looking for epic stories and adventures to share with its subscribers. A March 21 episode paid tribute to National K9 Veterans Day and featured former Secret Service K9 handler Marshall Mirarchi and his dog, Hurricane.

Hurricane, a Belgian Malinois and retired Secret Service canine, suffered significant injuries while stopping an intruder who jumped the White House fence and ran toward the president’s quarters in 2014. And Hurricane became the first dog to receive the Animals in War and Peace Distinguished Service Medal for his actions that day.

This month, BRCC partnered with Hurricane and his handler to release 5,000 bags of a new ground coffee called Hurricane Roast, with profits going to K9 Hurricane’s Heroes, a nonprofit that helps pay for K9 heroes’ veterinary care after they leave service.

“Hurricane is the coolest dog in the world,” Mirarchi explained to BRCC CEO Evan Hafer and special guest Mike Glover. “Anytime I can talk about this is amazing.”

The episode is a rare inside look at the profession of a Secret Service K9 handler, what retirement is like for a K9, and of course, the brand new BRCC coffee, Hurricane Roast.

“We are doing a coffee, and it is in honor of Hurricane,” Hafer explained. “It’s a really cool bag. Chris Hunt, one of the artists, did an epic bag of Hurricane on the White House Lawn. It looks very dignified.”

As for Hurricane, he is now retired and living his best life — so let’s raise our favorite BRCC mugs to him and to the rest of our four-legged service members. You can purchase this limited-edition, K9-inspired roast here.
