Marty joins us from Ascend Learning where he spent 7 years as the CHRO and was an integral part of the executive team which achieved enormous profitable growth, 2 successful private equity transactions and established leading market positions while cultivating an award winning culture. 

He began his career in the US Navy where he authored several intelligence articles, planned at-sea operations in Europe, South America and the Middle East as both a Surface Warfare Officer and Intelligence Officer. After 7 years of distinguished service, Marty embarked on a career as a Human Resources Leader, which has spanned a number of businesses and industries  in the General Electric Company, Analog Devices and most recently Ascend Learning. Over the course of his career, Marty has developed a strong reputation for building high performance teams, developing executives, and building global leadership teams that consistently exceeded growth objectives and outperformed the competition. Marty’s travels have taken him to over 45 countries and most of the United States.

Outside of work, Marty enjoys staying active and spending time with his family and friends. He has been married to his wife, Marissa, for 28 years. They have 2 adult children currently on active duty.  Drew is a graduate of the University of CO and is serving  in the USMC.  Jenna is a graduate of the US Coast Guard Academy and is serving afloat in the Coast Guard.
